History of Casa batllò at Barcelona
Batllò House. The result of a complete refurbishment of a previous building, this work of Antoni Gaudí -declared Patrimony of the Humanity- was finished by him and his collaborators in 1906. It presents bone-shaped columns and roofs that resemble a dragon's back. It has sumptuous balconies, decorated round windows, polychrome mosaics in trencadís (pieces of ceramics), many symbolic elements, a night system of illumination and more. The furniture is exhibited in the Gaudí House-museum. In the surroundings, called the "Apple of the Discord", you can see the work of other modernist architects.
