Cathedral of our lady of vladimir

History of Cathedral of our lady of vladimir at Saint-petersburg

It was built between 1761 and 1769, in a style, mix of baroque and neo-classical. The five very high bulb domes give it a characteristic appearance that contrasts with the simplicity of the façade; The use of the two yellow and white colors gives it a very aesthetic appearance. The interior consists of two floors corresponding to two churches; We can admire a beautiful iconostasis. The neo-classical belfry separated from the church, was built on the plans of Giacomo Quarenghi in 1791. The exterior buildings are additions of the XIXth century. Dostoyevsky attended this church. It was elevated to the rank of cathedral in 2000.
